Ollie Anderson

Anderson, who umpired for 40 yeras in 14 different minor leagues, including Texas, Pacific Coast, and American Association, worked 5,000 consecutive games before an auto accident hospitalized him in 1936. When players objected to his calls, his standard reply was, “I wish I were Santa Claus so I could give you everything you want.”
