Pat Underwood

Underwood’s first major league start came against older brother Tom, then with Toronto. Pat won 1-0 with eight-and-a-third innings pitched. He reeled off five straight wins at the start of his ML career and finished the year 6-4. It was his only winning season. His wide assortment of pitches had led Detroit to make him the number-two pick in the nation in the June 1976 draft. His father, John Underwood, was a minor league pitcher.
