Ray Herbert

In his tenth ML season, with the White Sox in 1962, the durable Herbert went 20-9 for a league-leading .690 winning percentage. Though he dropped to 13-10 in 1963, his seven shutouts led the AL. Herbert gave up Carl Yastrzemski‘s first base hit, in 1961, and holds Kansas City Athletic records for most innings, most earned runs, and most games lost.
