Evans had his best year in 1914 with fifth place Brooklyn of the Federal League, finishing second in the league in batting (.348), homers (12), RBI (96), and doubles (41). One of baseball’s funniest clowns, his antics got him traded to the Cardinals after just two games with the Giants in 1909.
