Were there any successful Negro League teams based in the South?

The Atlanta Black Crackers, Birmingham Black Barons, Memphis Red Sox, and Nashville Elite Giants were all franchises in the Negro Leagues from 1920 forward. Participating in the Negro Southern League, Negro National League, and Negro American League, these four teams were the Southern centers of power in black baseball.

The Negro Southern League included several other teams that enjoyed considerable success, including the New Orleans Black Pelicans, Arkansas Black Travelers, Montgomery Grey Sox, Louisville Black Caps, and Jacksonville Red Caps.
